Introducing “Not as *NU* Productions"
When I started *NU* Theatre, it was both for the passion of bringing new works to the stage, as well as produce some works I love and wanted to do. A question I get often is, “What is your company’s mission?” and I have to be honest, I was still trying to find that out myself. With a mixture of established works and new works, I’m afraid we were presenting an unfocused mission.
In response, I have decided to form the “Not as *NU* Productions” (Clever, I know.), to handle our already established works. This way, I can still use *NU* to produce brand new works (4-5 slated for work next year), as well as do established works (2 next year with a potential 3rd.)
*NU* Theatre is dedicated to bringing forward high quality new works to the New Orleans stage, and we will continue to. I can’t wait until y’all see what we have in store.

Miscasted! Opens Next Week!!!
From *NU* Theatre and Clove productions, comes
MISCASTED! A NEW GENDER-BENDING REVUE!
Every Wednesday at the Shadowbox Theatre this March and April!
From the collaborative minds of *NU* Theatre and Clove Productions comes Miscasted!, a new weekly revue show running every Wednesday during the months of March and April at the Shadowbox Theatre, 2400 St. Claude Avenue.
Miscasted! takes famous pieces of theatre, both from straight and musical classics, and asks the age-old question: What if “he” was a “she”? The results are both achingly funny and surprisingly eye-opening, as we examine these pieces through a new lens, and discover the roles on both gender and age in these works.
Each evening will have a different theme and line up than the previous week. The cast includes Rebecca Fox, Hope Leigh, Taylor Marrs, Tim Moseley, Allee Peck, and Daniel Skelly, and is hosted by Andy Niemann. We also will have guest stars from time to time, and already confirmed are Michael Martin and Richard Mayer.
The show will run every Wednesday starting March 13th, and going through April 17th, with a possible extension to April 24th. It will be running at the Shadowbox Theatre, located at 2400 St. Claude Avenue in the Marigny. Tickets are $10, with a start time of 7 P.M. Each show will run approximately between one hour and fifteen minutes to an hour and a half.
For reservations, call (504) 298-8676.

New Orleans' three youngest production companies: Promethean Theatre Company, Ampersands, and *NU* Theatre unite to produce a unique theatre experience, by producing their own versions of Jeffery Jones' malleable absurdist piece, 70 Scenes of Halloween. Casting depends on the version of the script each company assembles, with the maximum of 2 males and 2 females, any age.
We are asking that each actor/actress prepare a one minute contemporary monologue, as well as be expected to read some cold sides. If you wish to sing for Miscast, please bring 32 bars of sheet music with a song in your range. An accompanist will be present. Please bring a headshot and resume.
As we are casting for much, and auditions will probably run about 5 minutes a piece, it is suggested that you sign up and make an appointment with us at [email protected].
